Description

About the Role

iGATES is looking for a Technical Operations Engineer to join our R&D team and work closely with our R&D Manager on developing, testing, maintaining, and supporting our software products.

This is a hands-on technical role that combines software development, QA engineering, test automation, DevOps, system troubleshooting, and product support.

As part of a small and agile engineering environment, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of tasks across the entire software lifecycle — from understanding customer needs and developing solutions, to testing features, investigating production issues, and improving system reliability.

This role is ideal for a Computer Science graduate who enjoys learning new technologies, solving complex technical problems, and working in a dynamic environment where every team member has a meaningful impact.

What You'll Do

Software Development

  • Develop and maintain software components and product features.

  • Fix bugs and improve existing functionality.

  • Work with backend services, APIs, databases, and system integrations.

  • Participate in technical design discussions with the R&D Manager.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and reliable code.

  • Investigate existing code and understand system behavior.

QA & Test Automation

  • Perform manual and automated testing of software products.

  • Analyze requirements and create test scenarios.

  • Validate new features before release.

  • Identify, reproduce, and document software defects.

  • Work closely with the R&D Manager to investigate and resolve issues.

  • Develop and maintain automated tests for critical product flows.

  • Improve testing processes and product quality.

DevOps & System Operations

  • Support development and production environments.

  • Monitor system behavior and investigate technical issues.

  • Analyze logs and identify root causes.

  • Work with Linux environments, servers, and development tools.

  • Assist with deployment processes and automation.

  • Support CI/CD workflows and improve operational processes.

Technical Product Support

  • Provide technical support for company products.

  • Investigate customer-reported issues through logs, data analysis, and system investigation.

  • Reproduce issues and identify possible solutions.

  • Communicate technical findings clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Work directly with the R&D Manager to resolve complex technical challenges.

  • Maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting knowledge.
